A lifetime supply of something you will get sick of
The prize that sounds infinite and is usually a number in a footnote.
"Lifetime supply" has been offered for beer, crisps, tacos, doughnuts, cheese and — in at least one case — bacon. It is almost never a lifetime. The rules define it: a fixed quantity per year for a fixed number of years, or a one-off value.
A well-known example: some "lifetime" food prizes resolve to a few thousand dollars in vouchers. Which is fine, and stated in the rules, and absolutely not what the word means in English.
The genuinely unlimited ones exist but are rare, and tend to come with a personal cap the winner discovers later. If you are ever in the running for one, the number is in the Official Rules under prize description, and it is worth reading before you get excited.
